| | I don't know what it is about the Christmas season that bugs me so much. Maybe it's the throngs of people milling about, spending money they don't have in a vain attempt to be happy, or satisfy that black hole of consumerism in their soul that says "you need more products in your life to be happy" or something like that. Maybe it's the fact that I can't go to the places I usually like to go without being jostled by hundreds of morons who think it their right to walk (or drive) around with their head up their ass simply because they have stuff to do. Whatever it is, it's making me bitter. The holiday season used to be really nice, but it seems as if each year (at least in the U.S.) it has gotten more and more commercialised and less and less about the actual holiday itself. I mean, we are supposed to be celebrating the birth of Jeebus, the spirit of giving and loving thy fellow man and all that, right? I honestly can't tell anymore. |
